Mariel Corbett
Mariel Corbett is a creator and artist originally from Southern California, she’s been living in Australia for about 5 years. From a young age she's had a passion for creating art, yet after starting a 9 to 5, art took a step back in her life. Covid lockdown allowed Mariel to reconnect with the artist inside her and she started selling artwork for the first time in March 2020. Mariel feels that creating art is a way to express herself, connect with her inner being and show herself and others love and beauty. Mariel is passionate about giving back to the community, she regularly donates 20% of sales to various non profit organizations.
As an avid traveller, Mariel has been to over 30 countries, she gets inspiration from other artists around the world and incorporates these various techniques into her own art. Her art is currently in 4 countries and 3 continents. She is looking to expand this to more countries worldwide and offers international shipping on all her artwork. From charcoal portraits to abstract fluid art and scenery paintings, she is passionate about exploring various art forms and media.
Often people experience pareidolia, seeing shapes or objects in Mariel’s fluid art much like one does with shapes in the clouds. One could find that a single painting looks like the ocean, a galaxy, a landscape or a slice of wood all simultaneously to be interpreted by the viewer. Mariel explores with various mediums including charcoal, acrylic paint, pouring medium, watercolours, markers, coloured pencils and various collage materials. Mariel also enjoys creating candles, designing stickers which can also be found on her website.
Mariel has created several commission paintings and is happy to create something specific and unique for anyone interested in her artwork. She is also interested in collaborating with other artists and enjoys working with others, learning together and gaining inspiration for her and her collaborators.
